Advanced Topics in French & Francophone Literature & Culture
Reflect upon some of today's burning debates at the core of the democratic experience of these two countries. MAT students will also be able to design a full-fledged module to be used in K-12 classes.
This is a hybrid course. Class time will be dedicated to discussions on the topic. Online sessions include research on specific topics as well as writing practice. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the French-American relationship since the revolutions or: Je t'aime moi non plus.
Students will be exposed to some of the questions that are crucial to the society to which they belong. They will be asked to make a claim on fundamental ethical questions—and thus be active citizens.
The course appeals to teachers who want keep up with their linguistic skills while developing a few lesson plans for their own classes or undergraduates who would like to earn credits toward their degree.
